su-su- && danshari~

So instead of writing a longass comprehensible blog entry about sentence-mining, immersion, anki-card format etc I’m gonna write about 2 words I came across recently. I’ve seen those blog posts and they always point out really obvious duh crap (probably to fill out the numbers 1.2.3.4.5..5 reminds me of top 5 anime threads which are just full of awful anime lol)… it’s so dumb i’m like if you need that crap pointed out to you, you’re probably too dumb to learn a language (which is sorta not true because you don’t have to be smart to be billingual etc).  those kind of blog entries usually require a lot of skimming to read for me lol. it’s a lot of bs and it’s just boring to read. usually people who write about taht kind of stuff usually suck at the language. lol. why do you want to listen to people like that.

so imma write about スースーする　AND　断捨離.

so I believe I first came across this on slayers next in the later episodes (seeing as it is one of the later episodes of course it was from an amazing scene with good writing and good voice-acting and everything). I didn’t look up what it means and I didn’t add it to anki because it seemed pretty clear what it means from the context of the way it was used and the context of the whole situation. there’s still room for misunderstanding i suppose since it’s just one instance i came across it so my understanding of this word is broad at this point. as much as my japanese improves in vocabulary, understanding, intuition there’s still that small  chance i get the meaning wrong.. for the most part i’m right and i know i’m right.

Recently I came across it watching god tongue’s 2nd pasta ingredient draft kaigi (ゴッドタン 20100519 「パスタの具材ドラフト會議」具材ドラフト會議第2彈 バナナマン 上原美優 ). I was half-expecting it to be boring because it sounds boring since it involves food but it was actually really interesting (it was sorta creepy since one of the talent on that episode committed suicide a few years ago? )and i wanted to see the first instance of this kikaku. I’ll explain what the ep is about so you know why it was so interesting. it’s a draft so it involves picking ingredientswith competition. none of the geinin+tv talent/binbou idol were informed about the kikaku they were just asked for 3 foods they like on the survey. when they got to the shooting of the episode they find out that they’re doing the draft kikaku again and the theme this time it’s PASTA. Last time they did it the theme was curry. of course some of the food just does not match lol…. or you’d think they don’t.

so at the tv studio each team or person writes out the food ingredient they want in their pasta to make the most delicious pasta. however if 2 teams write the same ingredient, nobody gets it. there’s strategy of the psychological nature. obviously everyone wants to the ra-yu etc etc.

so gekidan hitori’s team aka god tongue JAPAN went for the seafood and gekidan hitori was like I think the frisks (mints,tic tacs)’s cooling effect will make the dish goes with the seafood theme and really give it that special something lol. I was thinking hmm interesting theory

after they pick out the 3 ingredients to incorporate in the pasta,  a professional chef  made the pasta for each team. the seafood pasta was crabs, takoyaki (squid/ or octopus), and mints. so the chef did his thing with the crabs and takoyaki (he took off the outer layer so it’s more seafoody). for the mints i was thinking what is he gonna do. is there any way to salvage it? he takes out dough for the pasta noodles and he says i’m gonna put the mints in here. so he crushes them and incorporated them into the noodle by folding them into the flat dough and then later on putting it through that rolling machine and cutting it up into noodles.  evreyone’s comments while eating it was su-su- suru and the timing of the cooling effect is sorta delayed and gekidan hitori was saying that delay is about the same as the delay from eating an actual tic-tac mint.  uehara miu says at one point it tastes like a frisk at the end lol… so it sounds like it doesn’t match? gekidan hitori seems to lke the cooling effect so i guess the only way to find out if it’s realy good is to make it myself lol.

so anyways having exposure to this word in these 2 completely different scenarios really boosted my understanding of the word. both situations are very memorable and interesting.

another word that i came across in 2 totally different instances is danshari. i think it’s a really cool word 🙂
it was so strange! at the time, I just learned the word danshari from sakai masato off waratteittomo (he dansaries too much and has no hobbies. i cannot relate whatsoever!! AND his birthday is the same as kanno miho. they’re meant to be!), then i started watching my shabekuri episode from the middle because that’s where i left off with that man-whore comedian muramoto of WOMAN something. aND the tv show that he doesn’t want to go on again ever is called dansharian (a play on words off danshari). I totally recommend that shabkuri episode. it aired 2014 in february probably. it was recent. it was some interesting talk as in creepy lol 引く話で満載. it made me want to check out the m1 GRANPURI for this year. it was some interesting manzai though muramoto is heard to undersatnd/catch but i’m sure somebody transcribed it lol. otherwise, i have to ask somebody to~~

danshari a concept i want to incorporate more into my life for sure. The first time I heard it I was thinking why haven’t I heard of it before it’s sorta useful and then 5 mnutes later i hear it again lol. of course everybody on shabekuri undersatnds what danshari means so it must be a in the daily conversation scope as far as the vocab. usefulness/level is concerned.

the video is 4 by 3 and i load the korean subs verticaly so it does not cover the screen whatsoever. i write down whatever i don’t understand or i want to re-listen beucase i think i didn’t hear it fully etc etc with the korean subs so i can go back it easily and not have to rewatch the whole episode to deal with the parts i had trouble with.  so it just bothered me a lot when i was watching with the japanese subs since i can’t make them vertical because that sub format sucks lol. for slayers evolution it’s 16:9 so the subs have to cover the screen.  for slayers revolution however there’s japanese subs so what i did was i watchd it raw and wrote down lines i have issues with in japanese while it’s playing and then i had no problem finding the lines i wrote down in the japanese .ass file for the most part.  i didn’t want to watch slayers revolution with subs because they can  be spoilerly (spoilerly as in i know what the person says before they say it which could become a source of boredom) even if i try to not read it or even if i delay it (since the lines are not split enough..though if you delay it enough it obviously won’t be)

but then for hanzawa and legal high i don’t really feel like watching it without japanese subs becaues there’s yougo and normal japanese people have trouble understanding that and some people in dramas just are not good at pronuncing japanese lol.  i’ll off-set the subs so it doesn’t show up before the talking (which leads to the spoiler boring thing)… and try my best to not read it unless i need to. my desire to watchg anime without crap covering the screen hasn’t transcended into my drama watching habits as of yet.

episode 7 – suzuki sensei

i must bitch the girl they casted  for maruyama/ the way they had her to talk (or they way she decided to talk) was just WRONG. I HATE her f’in voice and the way she talks (I would surmise that you don’t need to undersatnd japanese to be irritated at this girl but you can let me know ).  i never knew somebody could piss me off with a “hai” but this girl did it (and they showed the scene twice which is double puke).  plus she talks way too slow which made the words GET OVER IT BITch echo in my head over and over) what a feat!

and she’s a hypocrite too. her words don’t match her actions. she says “let’s do this fast so we can go home”. she moves relaly fucking slow (clean REALLY slowly, walk really slowly) and she stands still for minutes (that’s what it felt like) instead of moving and whatnot.  and why does it take 10 seconds to respond to suzuki- sensei only to respond with a hai that is super ear-grating and irritating.. I also think that voice she used isn’t even her real voice. it sounds so annoying. there’s no way. by fake i mean she’s making that voice which a lot of japanse women do. their voices make want to LOL in their face but i try my best to not do that. it’s so ridiculous and they sound so ridiculous and it’s just so dumb on so many levels.

something about this show is boring and dry to me. i don’t know what it is. it is interesting/well-done for what it is with the logistics and deep thinking. i hate taruko-sensei. she’s annoying. she needs to f’ off. she serves no role i wish they would stop giving her lines. i hate her voice and her haircut . it’s 2013 for f’s sakes!  i still think the girlfriend is useless… any scene with her is just boring and just feels pointless. She has yet to prove her worth.

I never thought this show could get more awkward than the 1st episode. but it does!  I don’t know what’s more awkward.. this or the kanye west interview on that late night talk show post-feud.

the kawabe girl… she was really annoying too with this episode and last episode. i mean i understand her frustrations but listening to her scream is really annoying and really childish ( and i hate this about j-drama…) which makes me  more shocked of her past and present etc.  I remember at least one instance in this drama where somebody’s actions just was not logical and just added to melodramatics. so in general people in this show yell/scream/bawl (i thought people stopped crying like this after elementary school at least in public due to self-restraint) too much  i think it’s unrealistic and it’s really annoying. a particular instance of the unrealisticness was when this girl was all upset and she started crying and she was in complete despair. I would think if i was in that situation i would leave the classroom whether it’s walking out or running out not crumbling down on my knees and then putting face down on/towards the floor (that shit’s dirty) and sobbing/bawling (bawling as in making STRANGE sounds bawling) in front of 30/40 classmates. it’s already bad enough that people are staring. i wouldn’t just leave myself in that circumstance regardless of my despair gauge. the other thing is i don’t understand by the girl couldn’t control herself and break down at a later time ro wahtever.

I thought for episode 4 or was it 5. it would’ve been so much better if they didn’t have the MEGANE kid  do the evil HA HAHA LAUGH. it’s not an anime and the scene doesn’t require that at all. and whenever you do that it really kills the scene and undoes the hard-work the actor did up to the point . I don’t understand why they cannot get it right.  I also thought if he didn’t talk in “that” voice the whole time it would’ve made it more realistic and better but he talked with that the voice THE WHOLE time. that just made the scene contrived.

all these phrases are vague and sound like it could be the other way with the goal of the contest.
on god tongue and they had someone who did the eveil haha ha laugh… but his acting was AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG. it was totally believable and funny all at the same time. while for the suzuki-sensei thing it’s unintentionally ufnny  and just… feels fake/forced. japan does have good acting just not in the most traditional places you’d expect it like in dramas and movies lol. the acting in the kiss tolerance contest is better than most dramas. narimatsu is definitely better than the megane kid with the evil laughh. it’s pretty difficult to pull it off…. but narimatsu did it. i totally applaud him for that. mgeane kid stop making me cringe.

all my complaints about the acting or decisions made with the acting might be due to director 演出家　 (is there one in dramas? ) or producer or whatever more than the child actor…. i wouldn’t know whose fault it is. but that person needs to engage with more people because this shit is not real.

*** also i noticed one of the kids look like yamada ryousuke. i don’t remember yamada’s acting chops or how much his acting has grown since i last saw him in a drama but i wonder if yamada is better than the kid who looks like him lol. i was thinking if yamada looks too old to be in this drama full of middle schoolers and yeah he is..

p.s. after the first fantasy scene it got old reallly fast. it just felt so slow-paced and boring. i’m just like ugggggggh. thank god there was none this episode 🙂 spare me that shit but then they showed the same shit 2 or 3 times which i hate.

* some of the episodic plots were SO PEDESTRIAN so it felt so slow-paced, tedisou, and boring. i appreciate the part where suzuki-sensei talks to the kid or the teachers or whatever about his opinion and the logic and blahblah but it doesn’t change the fact that the pedestrianness is BORING. AT THIS POINT this is average school drama despite its achievements because of the pedestrianness… i recommend NOBUTA, MY BOSS MY HERO, WATASHI TACHI NO KYOKASHO, hanazakar no kimitachi e as far as school dramas go before this BY A BILLION MILES! k….

maybe god tongue is also another reason i find the fantasy scenes so boring. od tongue does it so much better and it’s so funny and the bgm/sounds effects are perfect (something I will probably never say about korean shows).

the japanese subs are good. it’s really easy to watch/understand.

BTW about the manga. i did not read it but i did flip through it. i tihnk flipping through is enough to judge it just because of my experience anime/manga over the years and just my age that i’m older than before lol….. let me just say it made me not want to read it. the manga is pedestrian just like the drama because the drama is based on the manga. the worst part is the drawing in the manga. it’s DAMN SHITTY! lol. the level is so low. I’m so surprised they published. not to mention it’s frikin 2012 or 2013 or whatever year it was when it was published. i thought the level was supposed to go up or at least be consistent,,,, not go down like crazy.  if the drawing really isn’t working for you… you should’ve teamed with kenji or whoever to draw it and you come up with the characters and story line like they did with WELCOME TO THE NHK. sometimes it’s better to have one person focus on the story and the ovreall picture while somebody focuses just on drawing and really making the most out of everything.  all in all it’s unreadable in my book. i think the drawing in liar game is probably better lol… i don’t know like the drawing of liar game either. but i don’t remember having the adjectives shitty floating in my head when i saw it like i did with suzuk-sen!  I just wrote this because PEOPLE ALWAYS GO OH THE MANGA/GENSAKU etc is always better but USUALLY the adapation SUCKS because the ORIGINAL sucks.  i  hate that trend of people blaming the adaptation for the shittiness that already existed in its previous form.

So I saw the firs t2 eps of this drama with the japanese subs! yay.  for the first episode the last 5 minut esor so had no more japaese subss!! but luckily i was able to catch everything anyway. it just took me a minute to catch/figure out 福祉委員会. IT’S SORTA tricky with the iiiiiiiii.

reasonsI wanted to watch it was because it’s based on a manga, hamspasukebe likes it, i remember seeing interesting/shocking screenshots in his post, ch-reviews are good, and there’s japanese subs.

My only resevation with these kinda shwos is that they tend to be boring in that they are banal since school tends to involve trivial/pedestrian topics ie joou no kyoushitsu. they cannot help the pedestrian topics since it IS  a school drama.

My thoughts thus far are…

maybe the drama would’ve been better with another lead actor.. or is the suzuki-sensei  character supposed to be sorta dull. his acting is good it’s just.. something about it is boring. the fantasy stuff is just like eh… it reminds me of gto which is really meh. like i said before certain eps of the anime are interesting but for the most part it’s slow/draggy. i love the smart blonde girl /her arc though.

I didn’t like the goukonscene nor the love interest because those were boring ass scenes. if nothing significant/intresting happens with the love interest i’ll be pissed…. since tehre have been boring scenes with that.

the teacher… foot-ko. lol. i thought her name was haruko at first? i think it’s taruko?  uhhh i think her acting is awfulllllllllllllllllll. it’s very fake/unrealistic. it’s quite frightening actually to see somebody talk/carry them selves like that. i really doubt there are japanese teachers like that.  at first when suzuki sensei said oh wen she over-smiles by a lot blahblah i was like okay that matches her acting. but then she acts like that even after the fact. i wish they hired someone else to play this teacher.

1st episode’s plot was interesting ドン引き (sorta glad i watched the ep lol. it made me think about it.. there’s a bunch of issues like this where you tell the kids dont do tat but then you don’t have a good answer/back-up reasoning prepared with all the details and conditions etc… and after suzuki-sensei went through all the motions i felt enlightened lol). 2nd one was definitely not AS … how can it be. but i do relate the kid and his way of thinking. sorta reminds me of when i read books written by honda takayoshi. i just really relate. i hate people who don’t understand people who think that way.. by not understand i mean those DULL people that talk all day at 100 decibels/accomplish nothing while pissing people off while being completely oblivious to the fact that they’re pissing people off. something about the eps are like slow-paced as in boring to me… like i wish there wre more twists or another plot going on at the same time.  yeah i’m having high expectations …. the ones i have with american tv shows.

my last gripe is lack of main characters. suzuki is bleh at this point. there’s like 30 kids in his class and none of them are really main characters you know with the character development etc etc (you know how in hanazakari no kimitachi he they had a bunch of characters that stand out as the main characters/ major-minor characters etc ) and i most certainly do not remember anyone’s name except ogawa.  I have a feeling most of the kids will just be used for a one ep shitk for whatever episodic topic/experiment. i hate that the most because there’s not enough depth… so i’m hoping it is not what i’m suspecting.

I’ve only seen 2 eps and this turned into a movie so hopefully it gets real good. but the thing is  A LOT OF SHITTY dramas also turn into SPECIALS and movies. WORD WORD WORD.

I haven’t seen it used so far and i don’t think this word exists in japaense with this exact kanji combination.  i like the kanjis and the meaning. yeah the definition is sorta depressing but anyways i just like it for some reason.

speaking of this topic I was thinking about games. I’m not sure if i mentioned it before but I just find it so wasteful. if you have time to play stupid games like on iphone/ipad/etc etc then you have no excuse to be anything less than bilingual (at least understand 2 languages fluently). I really mean that in a positive/sincere way because there’s so many misconceptions surrounding language-learning… i just find it so so sad and depressing that people aren’t using time …. by time i mean enough time to become fluent or close to fluent or whatever on complete shit. people sometimes argue about tv vs video games but i would say tv > video games. i mean it obviously depends on the show and everything but at lesat in tv you might learn vocab/acting/ or learn something but video games is just… of course it depends on the game too with strategy games andwhatnot but come on… i just feel like the ones you just click frantically or type franticaly are just… insulting intellience-wise. so that’s why generally speaking tv pwns game by a lot as far as getting shit accomplished. but my main gripe is about the DEAD TIME. time that could’ve spent on something. i just don’t feel like you gain anything from games as in knowledge or whtaever… yo ucould be exerciseing ( no seriously it’s so scary reading about your risk of diabetse and whatnot ona minute by minute basis depending on the circumstances of your ass)  with that time etc.

i have a feeling if they did some kind of experiment comparing heavy video-gamers vs. people who get shit done they’ll notice significant disparities in the video-gamers with their vocabulary or ability to expres themselves. i was wondering if being an introvert compromises your ability to express yourself.. since to improve speaking you speak a lot… so in that way since introverts prefer to spend mots of their blahblahing instead of talking about nothing endlessly maybe the extroverts would have an upper hand. BUT THEN i thought of ariyoshi, bakarizumu, and wakabayashi (not sure about him because of his haters pointing out his japanese errors) who are HITO MISHIRI, ONNA NO KO NIGATE, and some other stuff . they are both shy but when they talk on their job ( the talk/variety shows) they say some GOOD SHIT. a lot of SEIRON. they word it PERFECTLY. there’s  no guda guda or dumbed-downedness or anything. they just are good at using their mouths. they’ve both been on GOD TONGUE which is all about talking circles around people and being smart.  and input in an important aspect too. i know 2

extroverts that don’t accomplish shit (maybe it’s also an iq thing… )  and have the dumbest conversations that go for eons and eons and i notice how vapid their speech is. they may use idioms but they use the most boring ones in the most boring way possible. it’s like… chuu byou as in no smarter than middle schoolers. i’m wondering how you can spend your whole day doing that. most importantly how can you suck at speaking english that much when all you do is converse all day in english. i was thinking if you just talk all day then you’re not inputting much at alllllll ie reading books etc etc. these 2 people talked to each other all fuckin day so there isn’t much challenge/growth or whatever with the conversing not that conversations have to be that tiring/challenging and whatnot. i personally would’ve gotten bored talking either of them within the first 5 minutes but i say would’ve becuase i’m introverted… most conversations do not continue past 1 minute with me lol. i don’t think im’ as good as explaining my feelings/thoughts and whatnot as much as ariyoshi or bakarizmu. conclusion-wise i’m just saying you need INPUT AND OUTPUT…. if it’s just PURE OUTPUT WHY THE FUCK would you improve as in my example.

honestly most people have a desire to learn a language right? like that language sounds so cool (japanese whateve rwhatevre) or it sounds so hard i’ll feel so proud if i learn it or it’s their heritage/genetically-bound/obligated language or they have mad interest in the media that country pumps out or there’s some famous person from that country that you want to undersatnd on a deeper level or there’s people in your life who use that language etc etc. it’s just really easy to come up with a reason to learn any language and i don’t see why people shouldn’t go for it especially now-a-days with the technology… but instead peopelare just rotting with games. i call taht time sink. dead dead dead time. people can do SO MUCH BETTER. im’ not referring to the dating shit… im’ talking about IMPROVING YOURSELF.

Love Shuffle Review

Like I did for gonzo i’m just gonna write an entry rather than add tothe reviews or create a new post with a bunch of reviews ( i have to watch a shitload of drama before i can do that lol)

my thoughts after ep 1:

love shuffle. episode 1 thoughts: it seems average. none of the characters seem that interesting. but people say this show is really good and somebody told me it was better than jin. jin has its flaws but it was so enjoyable and well-done in SO MANY ASPECTS. obviously love shuffle won’t beat jin in the costume or background music department… though i do like the english songs as bgm

arifureta kiseki, atashinchi no danshi, uta no onii-san, boss, mr. brain, buzzer beat – these are all like less than 1 ep or just clips. i can tell they’re just average/below average as in not worth watching DESPITE the lead actor and how i much like him or her.

besides love shuffle

… so 2009 was awful lol from what i’ve seen so i can see why people would want to rave about love shuffle because there’s so much shit but comeo on!!  there’s a couple on my to watch list from 2009 so those might be the good ones. I guess love shuffle is better than some of the shit i saw but it’s still not special. for me from what i’ve seen it’s like #1 jin #2 gine #3 liar game 2 (yeah it’s not good compared to season 1 especially  since season 1 is 35min and season 2 is 44 min but i feel like i had more fun watching this than love shuffle though i definitely didn’t enjoy it as much as season 1 ) #4 love shuffle

So the cast is goooooooood. I like everyone and i especially am a fan of matsuda shouta and tanihara shousuke and yoshitaka yuriko. I feel like it’s one of those dramas with a really good cast but weak story/characters. example of why the characters are weak… there’s at least 2 characters that you don’t care about lol which is exemplified in the last episode. the unrealisticness of the show just killed it ie last episode (lame-o)… yeah that’s the premise… is there anyway a show with this premise be actually good???????

story is just weak……… and i could really feel it in the last episode with how they wrapped stuff around. it’s just very luke-warm. I’m not feeling it. i’m just not into it.  some of the tie-ups were just turn-offs (turn-off is a good way to translate the negative thoughts on the drama from japanese peple with the samui, itai and all that ) ie matsuda shouta’s, tamaki ‘s was weak, the mei was weak, so was daigo’s. i would say probably tanihara and the jukujo? lol is she too young to be jukujo had the best story lines/acting (the acting can only be so good if the storyline is lame…) compared to the other storylines…  there’s good parts and bad parts so i don’t want to make it sound like the show’s complete crap (there’s good lines and some cheesy/iffy lines/scenes)…. any drama does but… i just have these complaints about it and i’m so surprised people are reocmmending this drama.  I’d recommend jin and gyne before this and they have j-subs too and they’re timed 🙂 to be honest before i heard the good stuff about this drama i was turned off by the concept love shuffle. I didn’t read any synopsis but it’s pretty obvious what that means and i imagined that a show that premise is gonna be very boring unless it’s extremely well-executed with twists and shit as in american-drama level. to some extent love shuffle did fulfill my expectations of  being boring. it did take me 5 months to finis hwatching it. what happened was i was watching iron leaguer and love shuffle and i was doing the “watch iron leaguer, watch love shuffle” thing but then iron leaguer GOT SO GOOD and love shuffle was just not drawing me in so i ended up just watching iron leaguer then i just forgot about love shuffle and then i finally finished watching it this week in parts as in watched 15 minutes of ep 9, watched the rest of ep 9 etc. not really because the show is awfual or unwatchable or anything i just don’t have much time lol and i just don’t have a burning desire to finish watching the episode. .

it has comedy in it and sad parts in it and romance parts in it. i think the worst part was probably the romance???????which is really bad since the show is called love shuffle. it wasn’t the romance was awful … i just wouldn’t call it good. it didn’t draw me in. it connects back to the cahracters that they’re weak and there’s 2 throw-away characters. i never cared about mei EVERRRRRRRRRRr. I could never get myself to care. i just find that character that boring and there’s not enough depth. not sure if it’s the actress or the character since i’ve only seen the actress in this drama. i’ve heard that karina dos the same acting in every drama/movie lol. that’s how she’s criticized for her acting the comedy was weak to me… the jo and the panda was just whatev but they kept repeating it… so i was like wtf?  sad parts are like … they could be better. like i said with the romance it all connects back to the story and the characters… if they delved deeper or had more something or a twist or anything. there’s just nothing special about this drama. it’s just another unfortunate drama where the cast is amazing but the meat is so lacking. I’m so surprised people put this on top of JIN> jin is ON A COMPLETELY different level for me. If I were to rank love shuffle in my rankings with the must-see/masterpiece good/average etc I would put it at average?  because my enojyment was eh.

since a lot of people seemed to have enjoyed it and even like it better than jin i guess it wouldn’t hut for you to try watching it but in case you’re like me… i advise that you gauge the quality of the show with 1 ep or 2 eps because it will grow on you a slightly more after ep 1/2…. so you can tell if you’re one of those people whose hearts resonate with this show or not with just a few eps. I personally would’ve just watched stopped watching it after ep 1 because it didn’t impress me at all but since people were saying good stuff i thought maybe it’s one of those dramas that get really good or build or get amazing all of a sudden or has some twists later down the line but it doesn’t do ANY OF THAT. let me just say that. you might think oh they did have a twist with that character or whatever and to that “I say no that’s not a twist… a twist has to be something a little more severe/interesting.”

i totally agree with the negative reviews on ch-review, accessup, amazon…. it’s so unfortunate because the cast is good but then there’s throw-away characters and the script is just like ugh… japanese people used the word 寒い　さぶい　鳥肌

basically i do not recommend this show and i don’t know why people recommend this or regard it so highly or love it more than JIN… by all means if you want to try one ep is plenty to decide.

plus side is there’s japanese subs that are untimed  + dramanote + other japanese blogs tat transcribed stuff but there’s timed subs for the korean ones that you can translate to japanese.  like isaid before if you don’t like the drama, there’s no point!

GONZO – done

(watched with my ghetto japanese subs from clubbox lol…. the korean subs for this drama is pretty good so the google translated japanese was prettttttty helpfull… I recommend the ghetto japanese subs if you love watching stuff with japanese subs.  after watching i looked up/figured out what was said for parts i couldn’t catch from dramanote and chiebukuro. i will post on this lattttttter as well ason my anki deck usage with the talk/variety.)

So I finished watching Gonzo. I read hamsapsukebe’s entries on it bc. i was curious what he would say. I think his praise for gonzo that he wrote on the last entry for ep 8, 9, 10 were a little too much. I agree with some of the praising but maybe not to the extent he was expressing it. there’s some interesting arguing in the comments but i must say personally i thought maou was awful VERY VERY MELODRAMATIC ie crying scenes that never end lol. (I love how in american dramas when the person starts crying they change the scene or go to commercial b.c. they know it’s awkward/uncomfortable to watch/it doesn’t add to anything) AND AND one awful ending. the ending was so dumb it was a big  f you to the viewers. at least that’s how i took it.

so about GONZO one thing I want to mention is the zooooooooooming.

what I mean is ZOOM THE F IN. so this problem exists in j-dramas  in general i suppppose and i noticed this problem in gonzo. it wasn’t every scene but for some or few of the scenes or maybe in this ONE PATRICULAR SCENE all I was thinking please zoooooooom in. I downloaded high resolution like 1280x 1024 or something but I can’t see shit b.c. they zoom out for the entire scene. Zoom out as in you can see all the characters in the scene and the furniture and the ceiling and i’m like why the f do we need to see all that for the whole scene. I felt bad for the actors b.c. they were acting but we can’t see their faces. PLUS if you put everyone in the scene the whole time,,,, it gets awkward. plus we don’t need to see evreyone. I notice in american dramas they do a lot of shoulder to head frame for talking b.t.  the 2 characters which cuts out awkwardness of other actors being in the frame … plus we can see the actors act with their facial expressions very well. It’s SUCH A WASTE zooming out the whole scene. I have no idea who’s in charge of that… the director? producer? it’s so awfull.

Another thing is the bloooood. the color looked fake so that bothered meeeeee.

Uchino was very good at acting as always… can’t see this drama succeeding without him.

in the finale… there were nice surprises. It didn’t progress in a straight line, there were lots of turning and backwards crap lol.  I like that… putting effort into the last ep!  so we know who did it and all by the last ep or the ep before but the last ep was still entertaining to watch. There was closure and it connected all the previous eps.

I was thinking while I was watching bones about actors PAUSING while talking. so in jdramas they do that only in certain scenes/situations and it’s like unnatural… like too much pausing/way toooooo long. like it feels like they are pausing to stretch the drama so they can fill in the 42 minute slot lol. I noticed in the bones episode sweets was pausing /hesitating as he talked but it was completely natural/good acting. so pausing is definitely fine it’s just never done well in j-dramas. well i’m sure they did do it naturally sometimes but the bad examples stand out a lot lol.

Okay so I wrote in a previous entry that mioka = namida no liter or the other way around.

and… it really is. I was curious and youtubed it and just watched parts of it and it was SO SIMILAR… the doctor scenes, the scenery, any scene actually lol. they’re not trying to hide it. it’s more like they’re trying to copy it or maybe any jdrama with this sort of setup will always end up this way with the execution.  涙頂戴ドラマ。　闘病

but lately I noticed a scene that they put in  both dramas as well as in grey’s anatomy. care to guess? it’s episode 10 for mioka and ifeel like it was episode 10 for namida as well…. i didn’t research this but i just remember that it was episode 10? but if is it’s like WHY. they gotta make stuff more and more obvious lol.  EDIT: actually for mioka i never saw the scene, i just saw the previous episode summary and they included that scene so maybe it was episode 9?

I almost didn’t even see the new season of grey’s anatomy because of the whole melodramatic/unrealistic finale that was the GUNMAN finale as well as the PLANE crash finale. that show makes me laugh so much sometimes.

I personally prefer the way the scene was written/executed/handled in the grey’s anatomy episode. I don’t know what episode it is exactly for grey’s but it’s the episodes before she got the prosthetic leg obviously. btw i’v egotta check out the ep with the amputaiton. actually not that i think about it, the situation is rather different in grey’s anatomy.

First i’m just gonna rant about mioka. so 1 liter of namida has its fairshare of unrealistic/forced hijinx but mioka is probably worse with that. Granted I only saw random scenes from 3 different episodes. but from what i can tell the guy/LOVE INTEREST is living with her? in her room? unless it’s her brother? but I don’t think so from the way she talks to him and the way he monologues about her. but if he is living with her, that doesn’t make any sense???????? I really like yoshitaka yuriko since she has an interesting personality and she’s good at acting and she’s pretty but this drama is shit lol.  I can definitely say 1 liter of tears music/ost > mioka ost. I like tanihara shousuke over fujiki naoki? because tanihara shousuke is just good at playing those roles and he’s good at acting. BUT all his scenes that I saw from the clips just reminded me of the namida doctor scenes.or maybe  all the doctor scenes with dramas that have this cheesy set-up just have to end up that way. so it can’t be helped? it’s like okay the scene where he says the disease has progressed to the next stage. i would advise that now she stays at the hospital for monitoring or i’m afraid it’s going to get more and more difficult for her to___ etc etc. maybe that’s just how it is. there’s a limit to the variety of dialogue/scenes that can be done in dramas with this setting. i have yet to see a drama that is good that has the premise that these 2 dramas have… as far as I can tell…. OH ALSO there was a movie. the song that goes with the movie is awesome. it’s called ashita ga kuru nara by JUJU. howver, the movie sucks balls. i don’t have to see it to know that it sucks. for one, the female lead cannot act. the title is like the bride/wife/spouse who only has 6 months to live. i wonder if it’s cancer??? whocares. it ain’t real. but it’s actually based on a real story. but i’m sure it’s been mellowed and dramatized to the max for your viewing pleasure but not mine lol.

SO I’M NOT sure if it’s fair for me to compare that scene in mioka vs namida vs ggrey’s anatomy just because the situation is so different. like for grey’s anatomy, arizona’s not going to die (unless the writers want to kill her to make callie commit suicide since so many people around her died lol) while the other girls in these jdramas will die because of their disease (indirectly but nonetheless it is the cause…). so arizona can overcome it or whatever but for namida/mioka… they can’t replace their brain/brain cells.

I just hate how in the scenes, both of them had it so the male love interest or whoever finds her in the situation and it’s a scene for the sake of omg poor thing…. how embarrassing/ disease is progressing so they can’t even go to the bathroom in time. they basically st up the worst possible situation since their hot, good -looking interest discovers the in the situation. i don’t know which execution i hate more… for namida ishe says dont’ come in a very angry/stern way because SHE realy doesn’t want him to come.  she’s just embarrassed and shamed and the guy i think didn’t go in go in to the room but he saw what happened through the door. then aya’s mom came in and helped her out and she was like go away to him obviously. and then for mioka, from what i can tell from that episode summary snippet they show in the beginning of episodes, she says don’t come but he comes anyway or he didn’t but he saw it anyway (PS how do they set up the fake pee so it’s like that… you know it’s a realistic puddle lol. OKAY I’m more curious about the leg erasing in grey’s anatomy as far as SFX is concerned) and then yoshitaka yuriko’s character mioka (weird name btw imo) says to him in a very yoshitaka yuriko-way? “I didn’t make it” or I thought i could make it…. something along those lines. the way she said it was sorta unexpected… she didn’t say it in a way where she sounds really angry or super ashamed like in namida. she just said it in a sad way

but obviously of the three, grey’s anatomy is the execution that is the least cringy to watch and it seems the least unrealistic and least convenient.

DRAMA reviews PART II

PART II because I don’t like having so many pictures load for one post…

I would like love to actually watch more japanese dramas but i barely have enough time to watch all the japanes etlak/variety shows that i want to watch/check out all the korean/japnaese music, watch my american dramas, read the books i want to read  that are in japanese/english and other stuff.
I don’t know when i’ll watch them but eventually right? so b.c. of that i’m just going to post this and the list of dramas i’m looking forward to watch. feel free to leave comennts like don’t watch that drama it’s super boring etc. lol. just no goddamnned spoilers.

oh wait i forgot to mention anime… it’s at the bottom of my priority, oh whatevs. well when i get through everything else. for the past 3 years or whateer it’s been pure shit getting released since they’re in an anime buble so once it pops i hope i’ll have time… you know good timing.

AND if this makes any difference… I watched all these dramas with either japanese subs, raw, or with korean subs translated to japanese via google translae. in other words I did not watch any of them with english subtitles.

REALLY GOOD

JIN – I’ve always thought i would never watch jidaigeki and i thought i would drop this drama after 1 ep of “trying” but i got sucked in! sorta like JIN did into ~. But anyways the first half of the first ep is sorta boring and the later part of the ep with kichi is sorta annoying (he keeps saying ~~~) but I was still sucked in from the overall  feel of the ep + my anticipation of what is to come. I say give this drama at least like 3 eps and if you still don’t like it then there’s something wrong with you! but seroiusly i don’t know how you don’t get sucked into it by then. it is jidaigeki but it is pretty damn edgy sometimes. Sorta like how mad men is really edgy even though it’s in the 50s.. especially in comparison to gossip girl trying really damn hard to be edgy in 2011 (but still this show is sorta fun to watch.. with the fast-forwarding of the annoying conversations they also have to do after the after-math lol). BACK TO JIN: I love the the song/BGM. You know a show is VERY GOOD when it has everything going on for it. the costumes/background music/casting/acting/camera work/etc.

I love the sadness/poignancy that comes from this show. very well done.I didn’t realize the actor  who plays saki’s brother is also masumi(?) in nodame cantabile till after I finished watching this show + looked up the actor lol. I

Let’s just say lots more stuff happens.. JIn goes to new places, meets new people, a bunch of years pass so there’s some changes etc. So anyways it IS interesting. It’s just the first episode was WEAK since it was the dragged out premiere episode as any drama does lol. You can read about it in my previous entry. also the first ep was re-hashy of season 1 or at least it felt like it.

They do give an ending so there IS A POINT TO WATCHING THIS! I heard it’s different from the manga beause of whatever changes they made. I heard the manga’s even better!! I think for the most part people don’t mind the ending. I thought it was well-executed nd I don’t wnat to think about it and see if there’s plot-holes or something. I don’t want to think about that cause it’s just confusing  &&  it requries thinking. but from my impression it’s fine. I have no issues with it. But then somebody on ch-review was like I loved it till the ending… that killed it for me blahblah. they also said it’s too dark and it’s harder to enjoy with the whole family and i agree with that… I don’t like watching that kind of stuff either but yeah it’s there in this sesaon. other harsh criticizers were saying oh jin keeps going on side quests/episodic plots but I thought they were well-done (you know how the aVERAGE dramas hvae the annoying episodic plots that are predictable or just plain cheeesy) like I learned about edo jidai more though i was irritated with one of them.

Like the first season, good poignant sadness NOT typical/forced/embarrassing as hell 1 liter of namida. On the official site which I have to start reading soon to get any other info like new intereviews etc… they have this flash thing and it says FUTATABI KANDOU  which  menas you’ll be moved again. and that is TRUE. But they did have melodama issues sometimes which I mentioned in that other pohst about JIN but even with that it’s still so good. Like if it was out of 10 it would be like 9.5 or something even considering the bit of melodrama at times. The scenes with the historical people are just AMAZING and I watched each of them at least like 5 times.. one cause it’s hard to follow that dialogue and two because it’s SO WELL DONE. I feel like it probably has a lot of re-watch value just from those SCENES which are amazing. It does have the typical j-drama thing going on too whenEVER saki talks to JIN… there’s too much pausing or long pauses but that’s like how all j-dramas are pretty much so… and i’m sure the pauses aren’t as long and frequent in JIN as compared to like hana yori dango… right? probably. But like seriously the pausing makes it harder to follow the conversation.. it really does. I have to make conscious effort to remember what they’re atlking about otherwise i can’t follow their conversation and then i hvae to rewatch that convo. because they pause i end up rewinding to remind myself what they’re talking about in the first place lo. it defeats the purpose of pausing and talking slow…. cause it’s too slow and pause-y i can’t follow what they’re saying lol. i even have the japanese sus on.

after watching it i asearched for clips on youtube of the cast promoting the show one I came across was them talking about the show and uchino-san (sakamoto ryouma) is talking and he IS SO DIFFERENT. he’s not talking like ryouma at all with the tosa-ben etc.. his facial expression is completely different.. I’m like this is so different, it feels so unnatural. It comes to show what an amazing actor he is! I feel sad that his private life is going bad with the divorce but you know i can’t deny his acting skills! It’s NOT JUST him. LikE I said before JIN meets a lot of new people right. but all the actors they casted were all so amazing and memorable. also for the casting they had to cast people who had to speak differnt dialects like I loved it when saigou/saigo spoke because rhytm or whatver you call it … is very RELAXINg lol (I wonder if it’s also like that for poeple who don’t understand japanese… if  so what i’m sayin’ is completely valid lol). So I loved that aspect. From my ears that have listened to a lot of japanese it sounds goood… the dialect he spoke. I’m not sure if the actor actually speaks that dialect or if he just practiced a lot like uchino-san or if that dialect even exists today (it probablydoes right.) but it sounds goood… I don’t hear that annoying accent thing like when hyoujungo/tokyo people try to say naniyanen (kansai-ben phrase). It just sounds annoying and bad wrong. ALSO I really liked the actor for higashi (though i predicted his background or whatever) because he’s good looking lol. But his acing skills are good too.  I’ve seen that actor before only on variety/talk shows only a couple times randomly and i just assumed he’s not good at acting (I know it’s not fair to say that) like didn’t he play some nekketsu (hot blooded) teacher or he would seem like he would which would involve annoying melodramatic chesssy scenes/lines.  I really enjoyed all the new people. I wasn’t sure if kurogawa (is that her name?)… she came on in ep 2 .. if her acting was goood… like did they really talk like that. she was so cut=e so whatevs  (´ε｀ )(´ε｀ )

I don’t know which sesaon is better but I loved both. they’re different. I was first apprehensive  because people were like OMG I loved season 1 and season 2 isdisappointing blahblah. I just think they’re so different so I don’t really feel like comparing personally.

ABOUT THE LAST SCENE OF THE LAST EPISODE

so on this talk show the cast was tehre and I forgot who said what but basicaly oosawa-san’s script was  blank for the last scene .　so that was his first time reading it and he’s honest to god reaction (while he’s in character as minagata). One take 😀

this is cg? real? well it looks pretty. There’s lots of pretty scenery scenes to be seen in JIN. YAY I just used that writing technique where you use the same sound over and over… if only jin was sin. what the hell was that crap called? alliteration? why yes it is and it’s the first syllable so it worked!

I think JIN is the BEST J-drama I’ve seen so far (I’m so glad I learned japanese and started watching j-drama otherwise I would have NEVER WATCHED IT or if I did hear about it I would’ve not eve ntried)… to the point of i feel like i have to move hanazkari kimi/watsahitachikyoukasho to gOOD but i really like them too and i get different type of  enjoyment out of both of them. I think I would have to say #1 for me at lesat. It’s just they put so much effort into making it like they said they traveled all over japan to film even just one scene and the acting is amazing. It feels like it’s so meant to be that this drama is amazing as it is like the actress who [plays nokaze lived in france for i  don’t know how long (i forgot). I love how she plays nokaze with the way she talks and everything… I can’t imagine anyone else playing her role. I just enjoyed watching it so much!

AND THE SONG this time is by none other than hiari ken.  love that man and I hope to GOD he is NOT gay it might ruin his songs for me? So anyawys I love it and I heard it a bunch of times after i finished watching it because I MISS THE SHOW and I like the song except for that one part  where it sounds like he didn’t reach the note or something or it’s strained? it’s jus tlike i don’t know why they released it like tha. But anyways the lyrics MATCH UP quite well let’s just say… is that a spoiler? but yeah it reminded me of jin a lot as it should and it’s  a good choice of song again.

I thought the end of episode 4 or 5 or aorund there was just classic. maybe that’s going too far to say. the scene with ryouma saying oman to that jorou (prostitute in edo jidai) and i just thought it wasn’t CHEAP at all. it keeps that sex appeal factor without the cheapness… It’s realistic and makes the scene more memorable and it actually does a purpose other than just sex apppppeal or whateve ryou call that. It was a just great way to show us the urgency and the seriousness of that situation and how close it was etc etc. So I thought it was SOSO SO brilliant and at that moment I was like OMG Jin reached a level that I never thought J-drama could ever reach  ( since i watched lots of american dramas and american dramas have lots of sex in it lol) from the time I watched my first j-drama which was bloody monday (orz OTL) which I found to be average lol. and you know fan-service in anime is SO SO LAME and SOSO UNREALISTIC AND SOSO UNNATARUAL and pathetic. I HATE OTAKU PANDERING! but i can’t be helped since they’re in horrible horrible financial economical conditions. So i feel bad for them and i hope they don’t actually like making shtty otaku pandering anime but they have to … to survive.

Mop Girl – It was so much fun. A pleasure to watch. It has its problems and good parts. It could be more deep and whatnot. It’s actually funny. the team work/chemistry between kitakwa keiko and tanihara shousuke is good. I love tanimura shosuke 😉

I really like how they casted kitakawa keiko and really utilized her cuteness like that episode with hakurankyou or something or the other times when they make her dress up in cute disguises/costumes. If it was ayase haruka i don’ tknow… i don’t like her!! as of now (2011) kitakwa keiko’s sorta fading… with like ishara satomi/kuriyama chiaki rising. Like she wasn’t even mentioned in the london heart’s episode when they choose the number one girl… Like no one chose her… unless one person did?? doubt it.

one thing that i didn’t like that stood out was the the guest actors’ acting ability was LOW which is really bad since the situations those guest actors’ characters are placed are in are sorta hard to act out.. it requires acting skills… so we get some weird overreacting/hyperness BUT at least the main people can act. Kitakwa keiko is fine, eikura nana is NOT.

also some of the episodic plots are weak but i love some of the ways they dress up for the occasion each episode. if you just watch it for fun like you’re supposed to then mmaybe you can overlook some of the weak points like me.

But seriously… sometimes I follow it fine and then there’s scenes where i cannot catch ANYTHING they say… it’s either i don’t know what the words or it’s how they say it… I would listen to a billion times over and i still have no idea what the faq is being said/talked about and then i find the transcript like the ameblog up there… (japanese people who can catch that stuff since they only speak japanese and understand japanese unless they’re billingual) and the ni go oh.. then i do the soramimi -effect thing and go yeah it does sound like that BUT without it i would still be like wtf they saying. It’s usually i know what they’re saying… I just can’t catch it.

Gyne ギネ 産婦人科の女たち – This was one took me by surprise. It’s one of those dramas i never would’ve watched because it came out fall of 09 when tokyo dogs, liar game, fumo chitai, samurai high school, jin also came out so  i heard NOTHING abt it. But luckily because somebody left the commercial on the avi for some other drama… which led me to watch a commercial for this show (ep 5 or 6 or something). From watching that I was like OMG even if this drama is crappy I have to at least watch that scene or episode. It’s the court room scene of course. but I thought just as drama it was really entertaining especially because I was watching monster and mother at the same time… unlike  those two the camera work and lighting and other fundamental stuff was done well (there are j-dramas that can’t even get these fundamentals right) &&&  It just didn’t have the usual/cliche/crappy j-drama feel or that feel was kept to a minimum. I just felt like the episodic plots/overarching plots weren’t the usual tired, typical plots (ie. samurai high school). It just kept me interested with the plot/arcs…. they were interesting and seemed thought-out and well done, One could argue that this show is more like sanpujinka no bakatachi but I just really liked as  drama entertainment. It made me want to watch the next episode, etc (which is you know logical… that’s why you watch the drama because you like it NOT because a bunch of losers praise it somewhere on the internet). Of course it can be better and the way it ended was like… not really an ending. but seriously WHY DID THEY SAy　神ドラマ to MOTHER…. no it’s not mother it’s MAZAA lol. ugh so silly.

Liar Game II -It’s not as good sesaon 1 because 1. it is 45 minutes? instead of 35 minutes (sesaon 1) Yes it is dragged out. They play the song (I love the song tho ) every episode and they stretch the reactions whenever something shocking happens which happens many times every episode because it is liar game. but the thing is… it’s just not that shocking or interesting. There were a couple tricks that i thought was interesting like the round with the cards and…. probably something else. Like last season  they don’t develop the side characters that much at all or the main characters that much it’s just like… i’m sick of it.  what’s the point? i feel bad for the actors… they have nothing to accomplish at work. If you watch season 2, you can pretty much be really disappointed in the movie. the movie is by the company (not part of the original manga so i guess i should go read the manga) and so the story is not that good. it’s like a mesh of sesaon 1 tricks and season 2 tricks so it’s like i’ve seen that. They even have an X… which was an awesome arc from season 1. I guess watch if you’re a fan just don’t forget to fast-forward?

Oh and poeple on 2ch think that part of the reason of the downfall of liar game was toda erika… and how she is no longerg pure and innocent anymore. lol. something about she went out with v6 member or someone and how her hair is brown… and well obviously people change and grow up and all that so… we can’t make her confine herself to whatever for our crazy fan mentality but…. I agree with them that… she is just different. If her character NAO changed maybe it owuldn’t have been such a big deal. but seriously it’s ust so UNREALISTIC how her chaacter doesn’t change at lalllllll. not even at the end of the movie???? I really wish they did stuff with akiyama and nao.. .then the movie might been actually good…. they sorta did stuff but not really so in the end they didn’t do anything as far as that realm is concerned.

Samurai High School

I wish they chose another actor for the “friend role”. i don’t want to insult his acting skills or whatever, but i just feel like it’s too much of a stretch. the way he talks is like…. pissing me off. He won’t open his mouth that wide or something and that voice that’s supposed to be all meek or whatever… I don’t know. It just pisses me off. I wish they made that character more believable somehow. he’s a big ass white guy for gawds sakes.

It’s fun for a few eps… It’s like a silly/dumb/fun. THEN It gets boring and really just ordinary (the storylines are so ordinary and pointless-seeming). I don’t like the miura actor and i guess he was okay in this drama but i tihnk overdid it a little but who knows how a _ from _ would act in a _ so maybe it is on the ball? but the fact is the ending is shit and so…. NOOOOOOOOOOOO. By the way i got bored by this by ep 3 or 4…  episodic storylines were very weak. so i fastforwarded 5 and 6 like crazy then just skipped to 9 because it became a chore to watch. Then I fast-forwarded episode 9 like even more crazy and then i was like such a shit ending. can’t even make a disucssion out of that ending except it sucks balls. but still at the same time i don’t care about it… 😦

PAPA TO MUSUME NO Nanokakan – It was fun/ny and cute/seemed good at first but after a few eps it gets old. In fact, it gets dumb. In fact the last episode was unbearable and a lot of fast-forwarding was done to finish watching it. It is an interesting premise it’s just it can’t even last (by “last” I mean be intersting) 7 eps.

The third lady (u know what i mean if you watched probably)’s acting was bad. it was like for reals? the director allowed this? It’s mostly the way she said her lines as opposed to the actual lines. The way she said it was so strange…. just not very sincere-sounding.

It’s like you don’t have to watch it. It’s not that good or that… anything. It has cute kids and well sometimes it’s done well but sometimes not…  j-subs to all the eps here

MOTHER – This and kaibutsu-kun drive me insane because they both are BAD dramas in my eyes yet people were praising them like crazy especially mother. they wrote like kami dorama  (kami= god) and i’m like no… It’s extremely slow, boring, melodramatic. I hate hate hate the main actress. I don’t think i’ll be able to watch any other drama with her in it because the way she talks is irritating. she whispers everything and it’s like… whispering does not equal good acting. as much as the guy from densha otoko was annoying, he was fine in watashitachi no kyoukasho but i don’t know about her if she’s going to do this acting forever!

And the little girl in the show is getting all famous and getting on this tv shows… not that i really care. she’s okay.

p.s. I wonder if there was some sorta significance with this scene (the screenshot that i took) with those things  she reached for… i wouldn’t know lol.

I was actually excited to watch this show becaue they kept talking about this show on various japanese info shows and the praise on the online boards and whatnot. they’re like oh they take such a serious theme and blahblahblah but it’s just not well-done so no.

there’s like no japanese to learn from it either. like there’s barely any talking.

Kaibutsu-kun – It’s for kids. There’s melodramatic scenes… which always follows oono. i don’t know why. It just gets lame and more and more boring and ugh…  I know everyone is really tryiing hard to make this show and everything with the special make up and wahatnot (like alll the promotoin on the TV) but the script is just… maybe it’s good enough for kids but not for me. actually the dramas that get promoted like crazy with actors coming out on the talk/variety/news shows usually suck the most… i’ve noticed.

I can’t believe the 3 d movie is coming out…

STAND UP! I tried to stick with this drama for too long (so boring and slow). should’ve given up or skipped/fast-forwarded earlier. it’s just ugly… people’s hairstyles/clothes etc lol. but i heard that DAIGO’s acting in the LADY hanzai profiler was really good that he was better than kitakawa keiko and the other main cast lol.

MAGERARENAI ONNA

I saw episode 1, parts of ep 2, and a few minutes of the last episode. Um this drama is crappy. It’s very boring, nagasaku (the actress who played the friend? or pseudofriend?) is really really annoying. Her acting is just nothing special just exactly what I expect which makes it so boring. Episode 2 was really boring and i knew what parts they were going to make dramatic or shocking or whatever at those set scenes but like it’s just not and i predicted it while i was wtaching ( it’s not that hard)>. ALSO I watched the preview 3rd episode and I was like wow that 3rd episode is going to be torture to watch b.c. it’s not going to be sad or anyhting… it’s just what it is.

I knew nothing was going to happen till the last episode so I just watched the last episode after fast=-forwading through the second episode. though i must admit even out of that i watched the last 5 minutes or something. I was just like this is lame… absolutely nothing has happened – this show is just depressing. I got sick of this show after the first episode and then the second just confirmed that this show has nothing much to offer. I love tanihara shousuke-san but he seems to be in bad dramas a lot lol j/k. who knows. DO NOT FORCE YOURSELF TO WATCH THIS DRAMA TO LEARN JAPANESE JUST BECAUSE IT HAS THE JAPANESE SUBS UP ON D-ADDICTS, same for KAIBUTSU MOTHER ETC unless you ACTUALLY enjoy watching those dramas. They really are just sucky. you’re better off watching a drama you actually like/enjoy with korean subs that are translated to japanese subs which I discussed in a previous post.

stuff I watched real quick cause I fast-fowarded/only watched parts of last&first ep and it most likely belongs in the BAD.BELOW AVERAGE/average section if i did watch more of it to decide… but it’s not worth my time.

mioka – lol it makes 1 liter of namida look good. BUT it was fun watching the actress on shabekuri 007.

shoukojo seira – boring boring boring.

Anna-san no Omame– at first i was like interesting. then i realized it’s just really annoying. I liked that one joke with the mannueqin… that was really unexpected and I thought it was funny. but everything else is just so annnnnnoying and never ending and never changing. I think  Isaw ep 1 and then 2-4 was painful to watch and tthen i fastforwarded watched the last ep ….

UNFAIR –I stopped at ep 7 or 5 or something. It’s just boring and i know there are plots I just don’t feel like thinking about this show. I suggest watching BONES. It always comes down to Is it as good as Bones? is it even close? is it half as interesting? for these kind of shows… and usually the answer is NO so NO.

RIKON BENGOSHI – amami yuuki　THING. it’s just not good enough. some over-expression like building shaking etc which could be seen as bad or good.  it’s just not enough to warrant me to finish watching this… something is missing. it’s not enough/ good enough etc. they try to make it interesting with the acting and dialogue/scenes but it’s feels like they’re just trying too hard. I mean i guess i could see why some people enjoy this b.c. they like what i just mentioned BUT i’m not one of them.

BOSS – amami what’s her face always plays the same character over and over. I can see that the writer’s are trying to make it interesting with all these engaging conversations b.t. amano and whoever ex. the episoe with shida mirai… it’s as if the show is pretending to be better than it actually is which is not that good…. BUT it’s just not enough. it’s just not… especially if I start comparing it to BONES. I love kenkobayashi-san on like talk shows and i’m not going to criticize his acting in this drama but like there really is nothing special going on with the cast/characters really either. his acting was fine, i have no complaints…

Dragon Zakura – It’s really really dry/boring. I don’t think it’s that interesting. I ‘m not that obsessed with abe hiroshi. I was like if it is the usual slow/boring/dry drama then at least i’ll watch for whatever tips for learning but even with that mentality i stopped watching afte rep 2 or something. I am not obsessed with YAMAPI but I did enjoy his acting and everything in NOBUTA PRODUCE.

GTO – I couldn’t watch episode 1. sorry i can’t take this old 90s vibe by that I mean slow paced boring etc. the anime is slow-paced boring too BTW -for the anime there are some good eps and funny parts but just too slow sometimes. people go crazy over this one but i won’t lol.

HOTARU NO HIKARI – so this is why i do not like ayase haruka. she is NOT cute. if you want cute go watch MOP GIRL. I feel like FUJI-something nao-something is always in crappy dramas. this show is not funny, boring, slow. not much going on with the story. I think I watched till ep 3 but i just hate ayase haruka in those drama. it’s just really uninteresting.

MR. BRAIN – I saw the ep with nakama yukie cause i read somewhere about her acting. um it’s just this show is not good enough. it comes down to is it as smart as bones and the answer is NOOOO

kaseifu n omita – it has mad high ratings. it even beat jin 2’s finale ratings by like a lot?….kaseifu got 31.5%  at one moment during the airing of episode 8 . but the average is 29.6% and 29.0% in kantou and kansei, respectively.

jin 26.1%  but the most views at any second was 31.7% so it did beat kaseifu in that aspect but not the overall aspect. this 31.7% was like the part when we get to that new phase in the last episode if you remembers.

ACtually it is a lot loonger. I started using evernote instead of notepad. I don’t have to worry about losing stuff and it’s a good way to organizae plus I can access it anywhere. I can also search multiple “notepad” files . the only downside is it’s not as simple as notepad so let’s say I was scrolling the secret garden script while re-watching ep for certain scenes that dre wme on.. it goes crazy and moves it all the way up and then i have to rescroll down… which is a bitch and unnecessary. so in this aspect, notepad kicks evernote’s ass…. if it had one.

Of J-drama and shitty fansubs

I think the shittiest I’ve experienced was this episode of propose daisakusen (softsub) by someone who doesn’t know Japanese and this person just kept making up shit.  I mean I don’t mind it as long as there’s a raw available so I can not watch it but alas that is not always the case.  Most of the hardsub Japanese fansubs I’ve seen are bad… some are acceptable-level and others are like for reals? And then… they usually cover up the screen too much. It just seems more nonsensical to hardsub drama than anime because subtitles go better with anime better lol?

Like Orange Days… The translator misunderstands a lot… obviously doesn’t know Japanese… Some of the mistakes are just crazy and are just down-right WTF how?

Examples:

Um it does mean something.　修羅場！　日本のどこかで修羅場！I mean at least the translator heard it right… just he/she didn’t bother looking it up. There’s lots of crazy mis-hear->mis-translation. But like Japanese people wouldn’t mis-hear like that. People who are learning Japanese/doesn’t know Japanese would mis-hear like that…

就職成就.

She didn’t say explain what it means because he knows what it means because he’s Japanese and he speaks Japanese. Though if she actually did the scene might’ve been more interesting. Like she starts explaining and then he gets all pissed cause she’s treating him like an idiot… etc.

So I knew that Ueno Juri starsin this and I was looking forward  to that but it seems like she has a small role. This main actor is mad ugly. Well he’s not ugly but it’s like god I wish they chose someone else.  Is he famous? I don’t know…

I saw the first ep, not sure if I want to continue watching. For now I don’t feel like it. It’s pretty boring minus the mind-boggling translation errors  until “the date”. The background music is iffy with me andusually that’s a telltale sign (lols.. seriously) for me.  All the shows I really like or like have really good BGM.  It feels 90s in a sluggish-draggy-boring way, not the nostalgic-authentic-feel way. Well summer’s almost over so I’m doing best to find shows I like and watch those and hold-off/drop ones that are iffy.

ANOTHER ONE: BOSS

I saw it on a video-streaming site becuse i just wanted to watch the one ep with shida mirai + i don’t think this show is that good (not worth downloading… bc there are shows like BONES that own this) …. i was watching london hearts.. the one about choosing their number one. takeyama cunning said he co-starred with her orsomeone else… i misremembered…. basically i expecte takeyama san to be on an ep of boss with shida mirai for some reason… but he’s not even on that show..so i guess i mis-remembered. (by the way lvoe the on-going joke about how takeyama is an actor first~ geinin second or whatever )

the part with toda erika and shida mirai about with the line about  prime numbers… and using a compass and ruler to make a 17-sided shape … was not translated. they just made shit up and wrote about iron or whatever chemical that has the atomic number 11… yes they mis-understand the number 17 as well. juu ichi. juu shichi. NOT acceptable. why was i able to tell ? well actually if you google… if  you’re google at googlging you can find people transcribing the lines cause someone asked on chiebukuro ooh they talked too fast or they used difficult words and i couldn’t catch all of it.

But ayways I used the korean subs that were translatd to japanese sub with google translate 😀 it’s so lovely and helpful.

On a happy note, amazing Japanese Music I discovered recently.

DLed up on his albums/singles and I guess I’ll see if he has any other good songs. From this, I would guess he does.

I love the voice and I feel something when I listen to it. The problem with most Japanese music for me is that the singer cannot sing. Lol. I don’t know why but most of them cannot sing and it’s like why did you become a singer of all jobs.  Besides just the unplesant singing are the fake(as in I don’t feel anything)/over-singing (J-pop people) and the annoying singing voice (a little different from the cannot sing category).
